Dear Nikolai Evgenievich
Thank you for your email of 11th November. Please keep
up your peace-making work in southern Russia and the Caucasus, north and
south. Ukraine too is in acute need of peaceful solutions.
I was involved for ten years
in an attempt at conflict-resolution in Moldova, and have travelled to Armenia
several times, and also to Georgia and Azerbaijan. I am a long-time
defender of the Kurds, whether in Iraq, Turkey or Syria. Friends of mine are
working hard with the religious and political extremes in both Palestine and
Israel.
I have visited Iraq from Najaf
to Erbil, with another friend, Canon Andrew White, who was in Baghdad from 2003
until this year.
