1. On 15 February 2015 during the service in the Krasnodar German Evangelish Lutheran congregation the newly ordained archbishop of the Evangelish Lutheran church of Russia Dietrich Brauer dismissed pastor Oswald Wutzke from the office of the North Caucasus propst (elder pastor, responsible for the region). The circumstances are depicted further.

2. Wutzke in communist era was the chairman of the political party Christian Democratic Union of the East Germany. The today Germany chancelloress Merkel was beginning her political career in his office. Wutzke was engaged in very confidential international projects, e. g. in contacts with SWAPO. After the readmission of the East Germany into the Federal Republic he for some time was the minister for cults (religions) in the Berlin Federal Land Government. Sure, for a young (32 years) Brauer Wutzke was more a rigorous tutor, than a loyal subaltern.

3. The archbishop is rather ambitious: he, e. g., let his quasi-German “sheep” name himself with the orthodox Church-Slavonic title “Vladyka”, i. e. “despot” (sic!). He also after the readmission of Crimea into Russia accepted the Crimean German Lutheran parishes into the jurisdiction of the Russia Lutheran church (though the possibility was to create the independent Crimea German Lutheran church in order to avoid the accusations in collaboration). The German Government stopped the financing of the ethnic German communities in Crimea. On 15 February 2015 Brauer met the envoys of the Lutherans from the Donetsk People’s Republic (the anti-Ukraine insurgents). Sure, archbishop needs only loyal servants for his hierarchy. Therefore, he substituted Wutzke with Brauer’s student-friend Sergey Maramzin, whom he “inthronised” (sic!) into the dignity of the North Caucasus propst on 15 February 2015.

4. The North Caucasus Germans considered Wutzke to be the channel of the straight connection with the German chancelloress. Now they have lost this channel. Maramzin before his “inthronisation” was the chief of the “Strategic Planning” department of the Economics Ministry of the Adyg Republic Government. For the Lutherans he was the channel of the connection with the Adyg President Tkhakhushinov. But the Russian authorities dismissed Maramzin from the Adyg Government because of the “conflict of interests”. Thus, he has left Adyg capital Maikop, has settled himself in the Krasnodar congregation praying house and has begun to represent the person of Brauer on the North Caucasus “throne”.

5. Wutzke was building the strong “authority vertical” of the church connection with Germany in the North Caucasus. Brauer via Maramzin is trying to construct his own “authority vertical” of the church hierarchy in this region.
