OBAMA. KENYA. BAPTISM.
Press release
№ 88 E
1. The POTUS
Obama Bible citing, his religious and peacemaking activity (watch
isaurian.blogspot.com for 12.09.2012 “OBAMA. SCRIPTURE. LUTHERANS.”) in
connection with his Kenyan predecessors (Nilotic group, Luo tribe) make be
sharp the question about the baptism of Kenya and about the Biblical mentioning
of this event.
2. Kenya (and
the areas, inhabited by Luo peoples) has the border with Ethiopia. From the
Bible point of view Christianity to Ethiopia was brought by the “man of
Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians,
who had charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship”
(KJV, Acts, 8:27). This man was immersed by apostle Philip (Acts, 8:36 – 38)
soon after the fire tongues of the Holy Ghost had sat upon the apostles during
the Pentecost (Acts, 2:3).
3. Normally
the chief ministers of the Ethiopian Kingdom were the eunuchs (to be unable to
seize the crown), who had been made of the Nilotic men, captured with the
slave-hunting expeditions. Therefore, the baptized Ethiopian royal treasurer
could be a Nilote from Kenya. If so, he had to baptize not only Ethiopia
itself, but also the Kenyan area of his origin.
4. Can we
find the traces of such missionary activity in the Nilotic areas in the Bible?
Yes, we can! The immersion (baptism, christening) in the Bible (in the Greek
original) is connected with the verb “louo”. Further the gloss from “The NKJV
Greek – English Interlinear New Testament” (Thomas Nelson Publishers,
Nashville, 1994, page 387) about the verb “louo” (in John, 13:10) is following:
“Verb meaning wash, bathe, usually implying the whole body, as here (in
contrast with a subsequent washing of the feet). It may be used of a person (Acts
16:33), animal (2 Pet. 2:22), or corpse (Acts 9:37). It may refer to washings
with religious significance as in in the possible reference to baptism in Heb.
10:22 and in Jesus’ washing “us from our sins in His own blood” (Rev. 1:5). Cf.
the cognate noun loutron, bath, washing (Eph. 5:26; Titus 3:5); and the
compound verb apolouoo, wash (away), used of baptism in Acts 22:16”.
5. Earlier I
have shown the prophetic significance of the phonetic coincidences in the Holy
Scripture (watch isaurian.blogspot.com for 11.07.2012 “BIBLICAL PROPHECY
ABOUT KORAN”). Here we also have
such a prophetic connection between the New Testament verb “louo” and the name
of the Nilotic tribal group “Luo” to which one of the lines of the POTUS Obama
origin belongs.
6. Therefore,
the name of “Luo” tribe can be understood from the depicted above point of view
as “the people washed with the immersion (baptism, christening)”. And the first
“Luo” in such a sense was the treasurer of Acts 8, who had been made “Luo” by
apostle Philip, and then brought Christianity to Ethiopia and to the Nilotic
regions (today Kenya).
7. The
sounding of the name “Luo” and the verb “louo” is a sign, indeed. And “through
mighty sings and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God … I have fully
preached the gospel of Christ” (Rom. 15:19).
Alleluia!
