Press release № 96 E

1. Russia president Putin 20.12.2012 during the “big press-conference” (4,5 hours; more, than 1 200 correspondents; straight translation with all federal TV and radio channels) was actively using the Bible rhetoric.

2. Replying the Russian information agency “Novosty” question about the relations with USA, Putin used the verse from Jesus “Sermon on the mount” (Mt. 5:39) about the necessity to turn the other cheek also to the one to smite thee on thy right cheek. President, however, noted: “I am, probably, not a very good Christian”, - meaning, that he is not always able to turn the other cheek. The last sentence of Putin is nothing else, but metanoia.

3. Answering the “Novaya Gazeta” question, if he had mistakes, the president said: “He that is without sin, let him first cast a stone at me”, - i. e., nearly straight quotation from the “Gospel according to St. John” (8:7). Further Putin pronounced: “This is the known Biblical truth”. Metanoia is again clearly seen in this episode with the straight marking of its’ source – the Bible.

4. Concluding his press-conference the president congratulated everybody with the coming Christmas.

5. Three mentioned episodes witness about the full break of the today Russia leader with Marxism – communism – atheism – Darwinism – agnosticism. Neither Lenin, nor Stalin, neither Khrushchyov, nor Brezhnev did cite the Bible; Gorbachyov spoke about the “universal human values”; Eltsin had extremely obscure ideological postulates; and even Medvedev preferred to quote Chinese Confucius and Lao-tzu.

6. The Bible rhetoric of Putin witnesses also about the fact, that he has begun to speak the language, which is spoken by the POTUS prayer breakfasts and “International Berlin Gatherings” of the Germany Bundestag. An abyss of the sharp problems lies between the USA (and the West, as a whole), from one side, and Russia, from the other one. But over this abyss the bridge exists, which is the Bible rhetoric.

7. The similar abyss inside Russia divides the pro-Putin and anti-Putin forces. But even in this situation the bridge has become to be seen. E. g., in his interview to “Ren-TV” one of the “Bolotnaya square” leaders – the Russian State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomaryov – declared 21.12.2012, that he would have gifted a copy of the Bible to every Duma deputy.

8. Bible is the bridge to connect different groups. Because it is said: “The scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe” (Gal. 3:22).
